When I think about cheap Chinese food, I can’t help but picture white folded takeout boxes with bright red characters printed on the side, filled with chow mien, beef with broccoli, and sweet & sour chicken. While there’s nothing wrong with these classic, Americanized eats (especially on lazy nights in), I don’t think these takeout dishes are the best representation of Chinese food. They’re more like American comfort food with a Chinese twist.

Big Wong is one of the best places to go to if you’re looking for variety. They serve anything and everything from Stewed Beef Brisket and tendon ($5.00) to Singapore Chow Mai Fun ($5.50). One of my favorite dishes is the Fried Beef Chow Fun ($5.50).
